Ĭurrently, Le Batard and Stugotz are joined on-air by Greg Cote of the Miami Herald on Tuesdays. A Chelsea supporter, Ruiz formerly co-hosted Chelsea's official American podcast, Chelsea Mike'd Up, with former show producer Chris Wittyngham. Le Batard and Stugotz interact throughout the show with producers Mike Ryan Ruiz, Roy Bellamy, Billy Gil, Chris Cote, Jessica Smetana, Anthony (Tony) Calatayud, Luis Montejo, and Jeremy Taché. The podcast presented a 24-hour live stream from June 4, 2021, to June 5, 2021, to formally introduce the venture. ĭan Le Batard and John Skipper formed Meadowlark Media following the departure from ESPN. Le Batard called the parting mutually amicable. On December 3, 2020, ESPN announced that the radio show would be leaving ESPN entirely on January 4, 2021. On August 14, 2020, Le Batard and executive producer Mike Ryan announced via podcast that the new show format would consist of the LOUR (local hour), a Digital Hour called "The Big Suey", the two nationally broadcast hours, and a "post game show" segment. In July 2020, it was announced that The Dan Le Batard Show would be reduced from three to two hours on ESPN Radio starting August 17, 2020. In 2017, actor Michael Rapaport called out Le Batard on Twitter about his comment on Magic Johnson, and they continued a dispute on other podcasts. Other ESPN commentators took offense to Le Batard's accusations that Johnson was unqualified and also suggested that race played a part in the former's accusations, including Keyshawn Johnson, LZ Granderson, and Michael Wilbon, while Jorge Sedano defended Le Batard as not prejudiced. Le Batard then questioned his qualifications and cited less than successful ventures into both NBA coaching and television broadcasting. In February 2017, Magic Johnson was named as the president of basketball operations of the Los Angeles Lakers. The show was heard in the Miami area Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 1 PM ET on WAXY AM 790 "The Ticket" and nationally on ESPN Radio from 10 AM to 1 PM. On April 2, 2018, the show's simulcast moved to ESPNews. On January 10, 2017, the final hour of the show began simulcasting on ESPN2, but in July 2017, the show's final hour returned to airing on ESPNU. The TV portion of the show then remained solely on ESPNU with the show airing live from 10 AM to 1 PM with no tape-delay. On May 18, 2016, Fusion aired the show for the last time as the year-long contract with ABC/ Disney was expired and was not renewed. After the departure of Colin Cowherd from ESPN, the network moved the time slot of the show into the 10 AM to 1 PM slot formerly occupied by The Herd with Colin Cowherd, and moved the live simulcast to ESPNU, with the Fusion broadcast shifting to a tape delay from 1 to 4 PM. In early 2015, it was announced that the show would be televised on Fusion starting May 19, 2015. He has also made public appearances supporting gay rights, including one in El Paso, Texas in response to an attempted recall. Following the comments, Hardaway apologized and attended counseling. It shouldn't be in the world or in the United States." NBA commissioner David Stern, upon learning of the remarks Wednesday, banished Hardaway from All-Star weekend in Las Vegas. "I don't like gay people and I don't like to be around gay people. When asked if he would be accepting of a gay teammate, such as retired NBA center John Amaechi, Hardaway replied: "First of all, I wouldn't want him on my team." Hardaway continued, "You know, I hate gay people, so I let it be known," Hardaway said. On February 14, 2007, the week of the 2007 NBA All-Star Game, former Miami Heat player Tim Hardaway appeared on the show. After running for nine years on local radio, The Dan Le Batard Show debuted on ESPN Radio on September 30, 2013. The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz first aired on September 1, 2004, heard on AM 790 WAXY. The hosts are known for their self-deprecating humor, which carries over through running jokes. The show features commentary on the day's sports news, perspective on other news stories, interviews with sports analysts and athletes, as well as pop culture. It was also carried on many ESPN Radio Network affiliates nationwide and simulcast nationally on various ESPN platforms until the show's departure from ESPN in January 2021. Users can enjoy setting anything they want on fire. It doesn’t matter if the thing is a piece of cloth or a soft body, every object is supported. This means that any object can emit pyro effects such as fire or smoke. It is all driven by new Pyro tags which can be added to any object in the scene. This new functionality allows animators to fine-tune and direct simulations to a degree never before possible in Cinema 4D. There is a new Notes feature which allows users to apply direct annotations to their nodal network. The look and feel of the interface is now much easier to look at and navigate, something that artists who are also designers very much appreciate. It is also worth noting that the Node UI has received a total revamp. These speed improvements are due to a complete reworking of the core something that really needed attention. Castlevania games do a lot of jump-hits for faster attacks, so I needed to still be near spacebar too. Then I wanted something different from the normal FPS controls because with one hand it's easy to angle the keyboard for comfort. Since I like to have lots of options (on FPS I use EDSF, not WASD) and the arrows feel kinda awkward, I started using numpad and binding all kinds of extras to 12379/*-+0. Grell Is, Oddly Enough, One of the More Normal Characters on the Show Without getting too deep in Kuroshitsuji gender discourse, Grell is Grell and that makes them awesome. At the same time, they often call themself by female pronouns and words. The word gets more ambiguous when you consider that many cultures like Japan’s lump being gay/lesbian with being trans MtF/FtM together. Yana Toboso, the author of Kuroshitsuji, describes them as an okama, a Japanese word that generally refers to very effeminate gay men. Okay, fussing over Grell aside, is there actually any basis for saying that they aren’t cishet? It’s just that we rarely see someone like them. While anime has never been as restrictive as some people might think, the medium has always played host to queer characters as seen in Sailor Moon and Revolutionary Girl Utena. These days, it’s almost expected, even if it remains rare, that you get one queer character in a show. Remember, Grell came out in Kuroshitsuji around 2008. Is Grell trans MtF? Are they a drag queen? Are they genderfluid? Non-binary? No one’s sure! And that’s the beauty of it. You might have noticed by now that I keep calling Grell a “they/them” and that’s because Grell…is Grell. And the church outfit with the tiny booty shorts? Controversial, but we love an icon willing to make bold fashion choices. Their shinigami attire with the red oversized coat looks fabulous in shots where they’re running on the rooftops of London. Later on, we see them in all sorts of outfits. Knowing them, they probably even picked out outfits for themself and Madame Red that would match thematically even if it was just a shared touch of red on both of their outfits. The Best Austin Butler Movies and TV Showsĭuring the J ack the Ripper arc, Grell serves as Madame Red’s butler and manages to serve even when they’re in a relatively plain butler’s uniform. Like, have you seen their hair? It would take so much conditioner to keep it as smooth and silky as it is.ġ0 Anime With Cool Male Leads That Are Worth Watching How much of that is genuine or just Grell being Grell remains to be seen, but they make an effort to look great for all the cuties either way. They manage to keep a positive outlook and remain eager to meet new people (especially when they’re cute guys).Īt the end of the day, though, their true love is Sebastian Michaelis, the demon serving Ciel Phantomhive. They’re Fabulousįor someone who gets ridiculed and treated as disgusting by many of the main cast, it’s amazing how fabulous Grell is both inside and out. When you think about what Grell is like in terms of their obviously not cishet way of presenting themself, you get a subtle hint of what they likely killed themself over. It’s theorized that they died at least a century ago. Grell’s no INFP anime character, but it’s easy to tell that their sad past has something to do with their weapon since all Grim Reapers in the world of Kuroshitsuji, people who become Grim Reapers are people who committed suicide. But there’s something decidedly melancholic about them when they sometimes let on in the anime and manga that they have serious issues. Sure, many shounen series will later reveal that their happy-go-lucky comic relief has a dark past or a sad childhood that made them determined to see the world in a more positive light. It’s not every day you see a comic relief character be teased as someone more nuanced on the inside in the same way Grell has been. Until today, fans are still debating certain aspects of their personality, particularly their gender identity. Though they’re initially portrayed as comic relief, Grell Sutcliff quickly grew on fans because of their vibrant personality that just can’t be pinned down. The redheaded Grim Reaper was introduced early in the series as the butler of Baroness Angelina Dalles-Burnett a.k.a Madame Red. The show is packed with demons, angels, and Grim Reapers all vying for human souls though the plot mostly centers on the young Earl Ciel Phantomhive and his demon butler, Sebastian Michaelis.Ĭool as they may be, though, there’s one character that stands out because there’s really no one else like them in the show and that’s Grell Sutcliff. Black Butler‘s brilliant cast of characters and fast-paced plot made it a favorite among anime fans after the show’s release in 2008. It will help the plant absorb water more efficiently. Be sure to cut the bottom of the stem at an angle whenever you change the water. When plants absorb water, they do so through their stems. Avoid cold water, as this can shock the plant and damage the blooms. When watering, be sure to use room-temperature water. Roses need to be watered regularly, but be careful not to overwater them. Avoid placing them in direct sunlight or near heat sources, as this can cause them to wilt. Roses are sensitive to temperature changes, so it's important to keep them in a cool, dry place. My husband and I slept under 18 blankets for a night each with a comforter then I eliminated several more and laundered the rest an additional four times. I examined the seams and construction and spread blankets on my king-size bed to check length and drape, eliminating some as I went. In our original testing, in 2018, I spent about four weeks testing 21 blankets, measuring and examining each one out of the package, washing and drying them, and measuring them again to calculate shrinkage. Faribault offers a 30-day return policy for any reason, and beyond 30 days it will repair or replace blankets with defects. It’s also been warm enough, when used with a comforter, for most winter nights in the Pacific Northwest. My dog was unable to puncture, snag, or otherwise damage the Pure & Simple, and after two winters of use it looks just as fresh as it did in testing. In testing it shrank less than other wool blankets and actually looked better after a wash than it did out of the package-the fibers plumped up nicely. The blanket is generously sized, with plenty of width to tuck into the sides of the bed. It’s much warmer than the wool blends we tested from Coyuchi and The Company Store, and it’s one of the warmest all-wool blankets we’ve tried, with color choices and edge stitching that look more modern than those of some of its competitors. This thin blanket feels almost as light as our summer-weight picks, but it packs enough warmth to compete with some of the heaviest blankets on this list. One staffer also noted that the blankets are too bulky for smaller washing machines, so they may need a trip to the laundromat. The main complaint is that the darker colors pick up lint. Three of our staffers have purchased Plush-Loft blankets in various sizes and found them warm and cozy, especially on their kids’ beds (one uses them under comforters for Maine winters). I’ve washed it many, many times, and it doesn’t have any major pilling or wear, but the plush looks more well loved. But it’s so comforting that we don’t mind tugging it up once in a while. After two winters of using the Plush-Loft, we agree that, due to its heavy weight, it tends to slump toward the floor in the night. Owner reviews for this blanket are excellent, with just a couple of comments noting that it slides off the bed overnight. After washing, it felt even plumper, and the stitching looked new. It kept its shape perfectly in testing, and it didn’t pill or snag. Of the five loft blankets we’ve tried, the Plush-Loft is the clear winner. (L.L.Bean makes a throw size of the Wicked Cozy, but it’s made from a slightly different fabric than the blanket.) Garnet Hill offers unlimited returns and exchanges. It’s also the only pick that’s available in a throw size, which we recommend because it’s perfect for naps on the couch. It looks finished and neat, like a quilt, but it’s also surprisingly breathable under a comforter (which is how we tested it). The Plush-Loft was the most popular blanket overall with my daughter and my dog, who both adopted it as their own while helping with this guide. The top of the Garnet Hill is made of quilted sateen, the thin middle layer consists of polyester fill, and the back is a super-soft polyester plush that feels more plump and luxe (like a great stuffed toy) than L.L.Bean’s velvety Wicked Cozy Blanket. It’s stitched like a quilt, but instead of having a layer of thin batting inside, it’s stuffed with fluffy fill (also called loft) like a comforter. Why it’s great: The Garnet Hill Plush-Loft Blanket is the favorite of testers and staffers who want the warmest, coziest, most durable blanket possible.
